What I can do?

To protect yourself and others from the new coronavirus (Covid-19), you should apply the following hygiene measures:

  • If you have flu-like symptoms, stay at home.

  •  Wash your hands regularly with soap and water.

  • Clean your nose frequently during the day.

  • Sneeze and blow your nose in a tissue handkerchief.

  • Use each tissue only once and throw it away immediately in a covered rubbish bin.

  • You don't have a tissue? Sneeze or cough into your elbow.

Slow down the spread of the virus by observing the following advice:

  1. Avoid shaking hands, kissing or cuddling the persons you meet

  2. Pay a very special attention to people who are considered as being at risk, such as elderly people over 65, people with diabetes or with a heart, lung or kidney disease and people with a weakened immune system.

  3. Children do not belong to those groups of people at risk, but they can easily transmit the virus. Therefore, it is recommended to avoid contacts between children and elderly people.

  4. Try keeping a distance from others when you are in a crowded place.

  5. Avoid contacts with persons who are visibly ill and keep a distance from them.

  6. Quit smoking as it is increasing the risk of getting sick.

  7. Do not smoke waterpipe as it is helping transmitting the infection.

What should I do if I am sick?

Do you have fever and/or respiratory problems (such as coughing and breathing difficulties)?

  • Stay home

  • Call your doctor and report your symptoms. Do not go to the waiting room or the emergency department. The doctor will determine by telephone whether you can stay ill at home or should go to hospital.

Measures for everyone’s health:

Anyone can contribute to the fight against the coronavirus.

On the one hand, to slow down the spread of the virus and on the other hand to protect the vulnerable people.
